Limbo…..

I have noticed that it has been years since I have updated my blog, and Facebook has kind of taken over in some aspects of photography pages. I guess I need to get my ducks in a row and start posting my latest sessions I have been doing the past 4-5 years. I pinky promise there are photos coming shortly. Happy 2016!

Griffin – 8 Months

When this little man’s daddy brought him to me for photos, I could have nearly squealed with excitement. He is so darn cute, quiet and what a little mover he was. Love, love, love his chubby little self, but boy he sure was a doozy to pick up for me.

Griffin was quick to give me smiles, and we photographers know that most of the time we have to work hard to get some good smiles out of little ones.

Hannah Banana – Halloween & 1 Year

I was so happy to see this little girl come into my studio for a combined session. She is nothing like any of the other little 1 year old girls I have ever photographed. Her facial expressions, of course after I have snapped the photo, were cute but most of all very silly and funny!

Brayden and Ed you have one beautifully sweet, silly little girl on your hands. Thank you to bringing Hannah in and allowing me to photograph her 2 times in 1 year.

Baby Z – 6 Months

This past weekend I was happy to photograph such a sweet, happy and chubby baby girl. Zoey came over with her whole family, and she was ready for the camera. I did not have to really do much but get her attention to look in the general directions I wanted. Her parents were fabulous at helping out and the encouragement they gave her for doing so was incredible.

Zoey is my very first 6 month old photo session and I was honored that her mother wanted me to be the photographer to capture the beauty of her only daughter. I hope and cannot wait to see this little cutie again maybe for birthday photos.

Thanks Courtney, Scott and Ben for bringing over Zoey!

Yahoo, Duece is 2!

Last week I photographed my very first birthday party event for my cousin’s son who was turning 2 years old, and had both A & R the littlest of the littles come with me. Deuce sure is your typical boy full of energy, rough n’ tumble and just an all around fun kid. I think that jobs like this are so much fun to watch the children play, enjoy the company of their friends and family, eat great food and play with the newest of the toys that the birthday kid receives.

As I was photographing Deuce, his family and friends I saw all the love that surrounds him by each of the people that were in attendance. I was thinking this little boy is very lucky to have wonderful parents and siblings to be there to guide him through life teaching him to love, share, cherish and enjoy each person in his life.

All the children sat around while he unwrapped each gift with excitement. The food was delish and very filling, cake was tasty, the conversation was nice as well. So another year has passed for this birthday boy, with many more adventures ahead of him as well as his family.

Happy 2nd Birthday Deuce!!

Baby on Board – Savanna

Wow it has been awhile since I updated the blog, with the winter months I don’t put much effort into getting out and photographing very much. Today was a great day, it was even beautifully sunny and warm out, while I was down in the basement photographing Savanna and her beautiful baby belly. It was an entire afternoon filled of great conversation, ideas, laughs, and of course some awesomely well done photographs.

Savanna did some boudoir modeling for me back in March 2010, she was my very first boudoir model and was so easy-going. She has such beautifully unique features and I so enjoy capturing her natural beauty. I always enjoy photographing people but I have to say that pregnant woman have got to be the most beautiful adult subjects, they have such a dreamy glow like no other person. It always seems that they have love, happiness and joy radiating from within and you can feel it as you walk by or are near to them. Savanna has all of these qualities during her pregnancy and I could feel just that as I was photographing her today. She gave some smiles that are telling a story but not revealing all of it, and it made me smile thinking about the love she will feel when her baby is born will be like nothing she has ever experienced in her life before.

I am anxious to photograph that little fresh out of the oven baby when he arrives next month. She is such a beautiful person inside and out, I know she is going to be a wonderful, patient and loving mother. I wish her all the best in the delivery room, also a happy healthy baby to bring home. There is going to be lots of love, snuggles, kisses and just a dreaming gaze upon that bundle of joy when he arrives home.

Congratulations Savanna and Minh!

Remember to cherish every moment with him, especially within the first year because they grow so quickly!

A Littles’ Snow Day!

Today was a great day to call it a “snow day” for the littles, I think they needed a day to get out all of those crazy energies that they have been holding in for quite sometime now. Miss A has been lonely for her father as of lately, K has been working like a mad dog and continuous shifts one after another. It becomes very stressful for Miss A to deal with so the decision of keeping her home to soak up some daddy time was a great one on K’s part.

Both A & R enjoyed jumping, running, laying in the snow as well as throwing it and just playing in it. I was having the fun to shoveling the snow up behind them, and I am sure the neighbors were happy to see me shoveling their walks and such due to the girls mucking it up.

I thought while they played it would be a great idea to photograph them since they would be in their “element” capture those candid, happy and fun moments of my girls having a great ol’ time! The afternoon consisted of no fights between the 2 of them and loads of sliding down the big mound of snow in the backyard thanks to dad doing that up over the course of this winter.

We ended the day off with a trip to the shopping mall where A & R picked out their popcorn snack for later and a nice dinner out with all of us giggling and have a great meal together.

So remember even our children need mental health days to brighten up their spirits, and it will brighten your day and make your heart burst with love watching them soak it all in.

Caesar the Great!

Tonight is the last night for 2010, it has been a great year for my family in many ways. We however are quite welcoming of 2011 in hopes that it will only bring on that many more great moments in our lives to smile, giggle, cry and most of all support and love each other through.

This summer Caesar was not doing so well, I had noticed a nasty cut on his lower leg area that seemed to take weeks and weeks to heal. Within those weeks he did not seem to be getting any better, lots of crying, whimpering and favoring his left leg. So off to the vet we went and after money exchanged hands between us and the wonderfully helpful people at Birchwood Animal Hospital did we find out that Caesar had pulled his ACL. I was happy to know that he was not going to be dying of cancer on us, however we were faced with the possibility of surgery on the ol’ doggie’s leg. We waited to hear back on more information on his leg and decided to wait to see how it would heal on its own while we did pain management for him. We are extremely happy that we made the right choice and the leg is fully healed up!

Caesar will be turning 11 this spring and we are starting to notice that he is showing signs of aging now. I look at him each day and feel sadness that he is going through this stage, but not sad that he is a grumpy gus a lot of the time. He has seriously turned into one of the most stubborn dogs, when told to move, not do this or do that he just refuses to even listen period. He is the Walter Matthau in grumpy old men, just in the form of a dog.

He has been the best dog, keeps watch of the house, keeps us feeling safe and I cannot say that I have ever had a dog of his size that has been so good with fresh out of the oven babies and children. He looks big and mean to everyone but to us he is just another member of our awesomely blended family.

We are going to be sad when the day comes that it will be Caesar’s time to go, but we will always remember him, and share the stories of all the crazy, silly and most of all insane things he did as a puppy and big dog. I know my husband is going to miss his “son” when he is gone, so tonight I captured the sweeter, gentler side of Caesar.

A Tachnak Christmas

This Christmas afternoon in the Tachnak house the girls were playing nicely with some new barbies and the newest addition to dolly collection the Cabbage Patch dolls, all while E the teenager was in his room enjoying some quiet and one on one time with the television while lounging in bed.

I would have to say that this year was an awesomely memorable one for me, I spent hours upon hours laughing with some  Tachnaks, a Willerton, and a Humphreys. I did a wee bit cooking this year since I usually leave that up to my loving mother and mother in law, I contributed some oh so yummy perogies!

Despite the 2 littlest littles fighting a cough the past week, they were great and enjoyed the time at family’s homes. Miss A at one point actually laid in the middle of the walkway of the diningroom and proceeded to fall asleep. Baba T brought her a pillow and blankie and she curled up under the diningroom table to take a nap (her choice) and had a nice nap.

Many gifts exchanged hands, and many homemade gifts were given which all were appreciated and received well. I don’t think there is more that I could ask for this holiday season, well okay maybe one thing more sleep and cuddle time with my children and husband.

We have been blessed this year with loads of love from family and friends, gifts and memories to cherish the rest of our lives, and we can only hope that this continues on into the upcoming new year. So for those of you that have had a less than satisfactory year or the ending to 2010 just think that a whole new year is coming and we can only start it off in the best and most positive of ways. Keep your chin up and be strong and 2011 shall be a wonderful year!

I wish you all a Happy Holidays and a bright wonderful New Year!

Thank you to all of my awesome clients for giving me the pleasure of photographing you, allowing me to join in on laughter and capture your lifetime memories. I can only hope that we will do work again soon.
